When the pandemic first started, I took to walking outdoors as a form of exercise since the gym was closed. Sure, I'd been "going" but I certain was not in the best shape. Within a couple of years, I had graduated to increasingly longer bursts of running interleaved with the walking. A lot of that was done in the glorious humidity and sunshine of a sticky summer so I started telling myself a story. Huffing and puffing was easier when thinking through the points of a plot and a world...and I kept at it. I even wanted to go out in the weather to spend more time with the story and characters I was creating.
And that's how I discovered that when I stopped telling myself that I couldn't, it turns out that I could! That isn't to say the entire process was easy but it was a lot less difficult once I stopped believing it wasn't possible. Since then, the little seed of a story from my walks has grown into a full fledged book. This collection of songs represents my mindset in writing the story and helps to illustrate the world in which it takes place. Happy listening and reading!
